Please share a memory of Francis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
NISKAYUNA- Francis R. O'Hara, "Frank," 79, formerly of Nott St., passed away peacefully at House 21 at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, the place he called home for the past three years.
Frank was born January 21, 1935 in Schenectady to Alice and James O'Hara. He was a 1957 graduate of Union College, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree. Shortly after, Frank served in the Army where he was stationed in Berlin, Germany until 1959. In 1965 he earned his Master's Degree in Education from SUNY Oneonta. He then went on to become an elementary school teacher with the Scotia-Glenville School District for over 27 years.
Frank was a man of elegance, honesty, diligence and order. One of his greatest qualities was his quick wit and sense of humor, which stayed with him until the end. Some of his happiest times were spent with family, catching up and exchanging jokes of any kind, and always with a Manhattan, or "Clucker" as he referred to them, in his grip.
Frank is survived by his sister Alice Whitney, as well as eight nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, James O'Hara and sister Doris Bushnell.
Frank's family would like to thank the entire staff at Eddy Village Green who so lovingly cared for him. The constant compassion and attention given during his time there was appreciated and will always be remembered.
