Obituary of Patricia A. McGovern

Niskayuna- Patricia McTygue McGovern 80, formerly Van Antwerp Road, died peacefully on Friday July 13, 2012 with her loving family by her side.
Pat was born in Saratoga Springs, daughter of the late Charles Ayen and Rose Agnes Lanzara McTygue.
She graduated from Saratoga Springs High School, class of 1950 and graduated from The Ellis Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1953. Pat was a Registered Nurse all her life, working at Ellis Hospital and for Dr. De Luke. DDS. She also did private duty and retired in 1993 as Head of the Recovery Room at Ellis Hospital.
She married John (Jack) McGovern, June 19, 1954, at St. Peter's Church in Saratoga Springs, he predeceased her on June 5, 2001.
Pat was a founding member of the Niskayuna Elks Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a former President. Pat and Jack enjoyed spending time at their camp on the Great Sacandaga Lake where they were charter members of the Lakewood Campers Association, (Pine Haven Campground) in Northville. they also enjoyed wintering in Port Charlotte, FL.
Loving mother of 5 daughters, Kathleen Lansley and her husband Brian of Niskayuna, Susan Stears and her husband Tim of West Charlton, Mary Ann McGovern and her fiancee Gary Brown of Mariaville, Elizabeth Cross of San Diego and the late Judith E. McGovern. Grandchildren, Michael Toma, Erin Lansley, Gregory Toma (Katie), Dean Lansley, Christina Breault, Jessica LaVallee, Page Lansley, Victoria LaVallee, Carly Lansley, Jenna Breault, Marissa Breault, Ryan Fuentes; Great grandchildren, Ethan, Hailey, Isabella, Natalie, Braedyn, Lily, Emma, Dillon; brothers, Charles McTygue (Rose) of Yorktown Heights, Michael McTygue (Rosemary) of Saratoga Springs, Thomas McTygue (Sandi) of Schuylerville, William McTygue of Saratoga Springs, Peter McTygue (Jackie) of Saratoga Springs. Sister-in-laws, Jane McGovern and Joan Kwiatkowski of Charlton and Patricia McGovern of Altamonte Springs, FL. Survived also by cousins, nieces, nephews and many loving friends. Predeceased by her brother-in-law William McGovern.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday July 20, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish Rosa Rd (Our Lady of Fatima), 2216 Rosa Road. Burial will be private at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
Calling hours will be held Thursday July 19, 2012 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady, for those who wish to call.

A special thank you to the Staff of the Ellis Center Stockade Unit for the loving care of Pat during her stay. Also the staff at the Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center, Cohoes for the many years Pat was a resident.
