Pat was my nurse manager when I first started my job in the Recovery Room at Ellis Hospital. I still remember what she told me on my first day; "You don't have to be crazy to work here, but it helps!" There are still a few of us (originals) left working there and we will always remember her with love. We have plenty of fond memories, we had lots of laughs with her and wonderful guidance from her. One of the very cutest things she would do first thing every morining was to perfectly line up the overbed tables in the recovery room. I still think of her to this day when I neaten up the room. I can still see her white lab coat flapping about as she bustled around the room, preparing for the day. She was a wonderful nurse and an admired manager and friend. Grandma Pat, Although I will miss you very much, I know you are in a better place now and can rest peacefully. I will ALWAYS treasure the days that I was able to spend with you while I was working at Marjorie Doyle. You always had a smile on your face and made my work day that much more enjoyable. I always loved when you would have me sit down on your bed and you would tell me stories about you growing up and would tell me all about the various pictures you had in your room. There were many days that you didnt quite know who I was, and that was ok. I loved that you referred to me as "your friend" when introducing me to anyone we would come in contact with. May you rest in peace and know that you will remain in my heart forever. Till we meet again. ~1~
