It was my privilege to meet George after he arrived at Gateway House of Peace. He was cheerful, always smiling, and talked often of his beloved Myrtle. He told us stories of his life and his years in the Navy. He even remembered the Japanese he'd learned to speak when stationed in Tokyo after the WWII. I'm so happy he's found his way back home to God and to Myrtle. He will be remembered fondly by many. My condolences to his family.

I (Donna) first met George when I worked at Predel's Ranch Store. Each week George and Myrtle would call the Store to order a pie to be baked. They each would be on a different phone extension so the three of us could all talk to each other. They would ponder over which kind of pie to choose and finally they would make their decision. The pie would be piping hot when they arrived to pick it up at the appointed time. They were a kind and loving couple and I was so lucky to have met them! Later on, my Husband (Steve) did some drywall repairs in both Cheryl's and George's houses, so he got to know him too and they had great conversations. It is sad to hear of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. He will be greatly missed.
