John Thomas Hall, 76, of Glenville, NY, formerly of Oceanside, NY, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, August 10, 2017 with his devoted family by his side.
John was born Sept 1, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to John & Evelyn (nee Jacobsen) Hall. He grew up in
Wurtsboro, NY and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Cadmus. John was a loyal member of the Exhibition
Employees Local Union 829 in New York City for over 40 years.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte of 48 years, daughter Jacqueline, son John (Ruth), daughter Kathleen, son Thomas (Michele), daughter Shannon (Jake) Lansley; His grandchildren Carole Ann, Daniel, Matthew, Peyton, and Logan; His loving sister, Kathleen (Walter) Ulrich and his many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and friends.
John was a devoted family man and friend. He and Charlotte raised their family in Oceanside, NY in a home John built. John loved hosting annual 4th of July
barbecues, parties, and having family and friends together. John & Charlotte welcomed one and all into their homes with love, generosity & kindness.
John was also an avid hunter and loved spending time in the outdoors with his son, nephews, and friends.
John & his family would like to extend a special thanks to the Schenectady Community Hospice
program for all of their support and guidance through John's journey home.
Calling hours are Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 4pm to 7 pm at the
Jones Funeral Home in Schenectady and Tuesday August 15, at the Christopher Jordan Funeral Home in Island Park from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
A Catholic mass in John's honor will be held at St. Ignatius Martyr R.C. Church in Long Beach on Wednesday August 16, at 10am.
Immediately following, John will be laid to rest at Pinelawn Cemetery in
Lindenhurst, NY.
