My deepest condolences to the family of Richard Huether on the loss of such a wonderful, caring man. I knew Dick through The College of Saint Rose. As the Vice President for Student Affairs, I worked directly with him when he chaired the Student Life Committee of the Board of Trustees. He was always interested in the life of the students, seeking to present to the other Board members the positive impact students were having on life at the College. Dick was concerned about their welfare, their studies, and their futures. His approach in working with students was to be present, offering encouragement and advice on how to advance themselves as leaders within the College, and also as future leaders in their chosen field. He was very collaborative in his work with me, and I am forever grateful for his true partnership in moving forward our work with students.
The College was richly blessed by his presence, his graciousness, and his support. May he be blessed with the loving embrace of the Creator, who gifted us with his presence in the world.
