My husband, Edwin, and I shared so many happy times with Gertrude and her John, who was my husband's cousin. We have a painting done by each of them, the only originals we own, and we are so proud of them. When Ed and I moved up to the Albany area, we were so pleased to be able to visit them and to reconnect after many years apart. Gertrude was a truly caring wife, I always admired how thoughtful she was of John. She will be missed.
