Obituary of Bernadine A. Cincotta
Bernadine A Cincotta 99 of Willing Helpers Home for Women in Johnstown, NY, formerly of Niskayuna, NY passed away March 7, 2018 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY where she was a patient since March 1.
She was born in Johnstown, NY on January 30, 1919 a daughter of the late Edward and Antonia Polacek Simek.
Bernadine graduated from Johnstown High School, she worked at Gates and Mills Glove factory in Gloversville for a few years but decided to remain at home and tend to homemaking.
She was a great baker of pies and cookies which the grandchildren loved especially for the holidays. She loved to go camping in a travel trailer in the Adirondacks and spend the summers in a small lake house at Lake George, NY.
She married Joseph T. Cincotta on October 14, 1944 at St. Anthony’s Church in Johnstown, NY. He predeceased her in 1997.
Bernadine is survived by her son Gary Cincotta and his wife Carol of Westborough, MA; 1 granddaughter, Kristen(Rynkowski) Grafton, MA, 1 grandson, Jeffrey of Hartford, CT, 6 great grandchildren, Chase, Skylar, Grayson, Shane, Aiden and Logan. Survived also by sisters Ann Kollar, Mary Firito; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Velma Simek, Marguerite Henry, brothers Anthony, John, Steve and Edward.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 14th at 10 AM at St. Kateri Parish (formerly St. Helen’s), 1803 Union St., Niskayuna, NY. A calling hour will be Monday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, (at McClellan St.), Schenectady.
Entombment will follow the Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, Niskayuna, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernadine’s memory may be made to Willing Helpers Home for Women, Inc., 226 Madison Avenue, Johnstown, NY 12095.
