Dear Chris, It was such a shock to see your Mothers' obituary tonight and I am so very sorry for your loss. Betti was a model of a strong independent working woman and was a great encouragement to me when i was a young widow. Memories of both of you at Christmas Eve past are forever in my memory. John is camping with his family somewhere around Cape Cod and i will attempt to reach him tomorrow ,if possible. Again, my deepest condolences to you and all your family.

I most loved your trips to Vermont for our family cookouts/clambakes. I don't think you were so much a country girl but you were always a trouper! Then there were the cookouts at my mother's. Weird memories, since neither you nor her ate enough to keep a bird alive! I hope you and Molly are having the heavenly equivalent of a cookout and cocktail right now!
