Glenville-Florence Elizabeth McGinley, of Tryon Avenue, died peacefully in her sleep on April 29, 2008.
Daughter of the late Lawrence and Florence Jones McGinley. A lifelong resident, she graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Mildred Elley Business School. An Administrative Clerk in Plant Employee Relations at General Electric Co., Miss McGinley retired in 1985 after 43 years of service. She also worked at NRX Services in Pharmacy Support after retirement. A member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, she was a Eucharistic Minister and Choir Member. She was a Literacy Volunteer and volunteered at Bethesda House, Girl's Inc., and Proctor's Gift Centre. For a period of years, she was active with the Schenectady Light Opera Company and was Producer for the first production of "Music Man." She also was a member of the Scotia-Glenville Senior Center and the Homework Club at Glen Warden Elementary School.
Survivors are several cousins and their families.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 5th at 9 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Rosa Road, Schenectady. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cooperstown, NY with her parents.
