Mr and Mrs Comanzo, Doug and family. I am so terribly sorry to hear of Dick's death. He has been in my thoughts and prayers since I first found his web blog and knew of his illness. He was one of a kind. I will never forget swimming with him at the Mohawk Club. One race in particular. He of course won and I barely touched out the other guy to get second place. When I came up for air not knowing if i had beaten him - their Dick stood with his arms above his head - the look on his face made me feel like a million dollars. I expect he had that effect on a lot of people. The sun won't shine quite so bright for me tomorrow , but I will always be warmed by the memory of his smile. Take care in this very difficult time of year. My best to you all. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Doug I hope you are well and that life has treated you well since leaving NHS. Again, I am so terribly sorry.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Comanzo, I was a classmate of Dick's at Niskayuna, he was an amazing person who made everyone feel good and always made us laugh. It didn't matter what "group" you were in, Dickie reached out to everyone. After reading his obituary, it's evident he continued to touch many peoples' lives. Please know that you are in my prayers, nothing can replace your son, but I hope these remembrances bring some comfort. Sincerely, Liz Dobson-Davis

Our deepest regrets. Since I spoke to Ralph about Dick this last summer, you have been in our thoughts. I, as a teacher, can still see his winning smile in the halls of NHS. I'm certain he touched many people.

To the Comanzo family with my deepest, heartfelt condolences for the passing of your son, Dickie. I so clearly remember Dickie from my NHS days and his adorning, beautiful smile that could brighten anyones' day. His spirit generated positivity to those around him and was bound to take him far in his life. While we may lose one physically in life, Dickies' light will burn forever bright in the hearts of all those that knew him. May God be with all of you and bless you with endearing memories of Dickie always. with peace and love, Nadia Dabul-Montini NHS class of 1980

Dear Comanzo Family, I was lucky enough to be able to call "Dickie" my friend. We both graduated from NHS in 1980...he ALWAYS made me laugh, no matter what! He was truly a special person. He went to Ithaca and I went to SUNY Cortland...while there we got to see each other a few times...I even got to see the Ithaca poster with his million dollar smile on it! I remember thinking..."This kid is going to be something special some day!!!" Sure enough...he was! My heart goes out to you all for I know of the heartache you are feeling...but may it give you comfort to know that Dickie touched so many lives in a such a positive way, I will never forget him, he touched my life and I am honored to have known him as a true friend. God Bless you all, Nancy
