Obituary of Nancy Dyck

Niskayuna- Nancy Killip Van Dyck 83, of Schenectady, formerly of Knolls View Drive, Niskayuna, died, Sunday August 15, 2010, at Ellis Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Schenectady, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Clare Kearney Killip, Nancy graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Traphagen School of Design in NYC, she worked at GE during WW II as a draftsman for 5 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. Nancy volunterred as a Pink Lady at Ellis Hospital for 35 years, she was a member of the Schenectady Arrangers Garden Club, the Edison Club and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Schenectady. She married Richard A. Van Dyck June 30, 1951 in Schenectady. Survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard; daughters, Elizabeth (Stephen) Beatson of Glastonbury, CT, Katherine Van Dyck (Martin Herrera) of Willmington, DE, Sarah (Daniel) Cole of Rexford, Amy (Christopher) Markin of Wantagh,NY; 3 granddaughters, Colleen and Kerry Markin, Lizabeth (Daniel) Sorensen: 3 great grandchildren, Ruby, Elke and Iver Sorensen. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Thursday at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Calling hours will be Wednesday afternoon from 2 PM to 4 PM and in the evening 6 PM to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will be in the urn Garden at the Gerald BH Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at a later date.
