Obituary of Paul Hasler JR

Niskayuna- Paul S. Hasler Jr. 83, of Niskayuna, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center.
Born in Hamilton, Ohio, son of the late Paul S. and Carrie Blackburn Hasler Sr.. Paul was a Navy Veteran of WW II. He graduated from Ohio State
University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Math. Following college he was employed at General Electric in Fort Wayne, Indiana and advanced thru a series of Management positions in Cleveland and Schenectady before retiring in 1987.
Paul was very proud of his involvement in Education as President of the Niskayuna School Board, his work with B O C E S and the NYS School Board Association. He was a member of GE Elfun Society and the Mohawk Golf Club.
He married Alice Lee Fleming in 1953 and they remained together till her passing in 1992. Subsequently he married Mary Jane Cronin in 1994 until her passing in 2002. Paul was also predeceased by his sister Betty Stambaugh in 2009.
Paul is survived by his 2 sons; Dr. William L. Hasler and his wife Dr. Michelle Anderson of Plymouth, MI, and James A. Hasler of Oakland, CA.; 3 grandchildren, Diana Hasler, Ryan Hasler and Sarah Jednak. a step-daughter, Catherine Cronin Coleman of CT; 2 nieces, Nancy Stambaugh and Carolyn Blondell; and brother in-law, Al Stambaugh.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service, with a reception to follow the service, on Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 11 AM at St. George's Episcopal Church, 30 N. Ferry
Street, Schenectady with Rev Paul Blanch officiating. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Paul's memory to American Diabetes Association, 2 Pine West Plaza, Albany, NY 12205, Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, 1270 Belmont Ave., Schenectady, NY 12208 or to Ellis Hospital Foundation, 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
