Obituary of Dorothy R. Doyle

Schenectady - Dorothy "Dot" R. Doyle, age 86, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at her Kingsway Village residence. Mrs. Doyle was born May 1, 1922 in Lowville, NY, the daughter of the late Henry C. and Nina B. (Bingham) Rich. She graduated in 1940 from Lowville Free Academy and also attended Cortland State and secretarial school. Mrs. Doyle was predeceased by her husband, Thomas F. Doyle, who died in 1975. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Thomas) Wetherell of Pittsford, NY and Michael R. (Linda Lombardi) Doyle of Albany; a sister, Louise R. Archer of Rochester and a brother, Howard B. Rich of Lowville; two grandchildren, Brian (Erica) King of State College, PA and Jeffrey (Kathy) King of New York City; three great grandchildren, Madigan and Aidan King of State College, PA and Annika King of NYC. Mrs. Doyle is also survived by a niece and three nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 10:00AM to 11:30 AM at Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 1503 Union Street,(at McClellan St.), Schenectady, NY. A Memorial service will immediately follow at 11:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fast Break Fund, P.O. Box 1128, Latham, NY 12110, a program that provides children with an opportunity to attend summer basketball camp or to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
