Obituary of Joan Wagner

Joan Wagner passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2017 at the age of 76. Joan was born in Albany, NY and grew up in Niskayuna, NY. She was proud of the fact that she was in the very first graduating class from (the new) Niskayuna High School in 1959. Joan spent decades involved with the Credit Union movement. She lived and breathed credit union. She was predeceased by her parents Robert Lawrence and Emmy Hauser Lawrence. Joan is survived by her husband Edward F. Wagner and they just celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on May 4th. She is also survived by Wendy Lucas (Thomas), Kim Lucas (Bridy), Christopher Lucas (Robert), Jennifer Harney (John), Edward B. Wagner, Eric Wagner (Sheila) and nine grandchildren, Jared Doyle, Nadine Doyle, Brent Lucas, Mason Lucas, Reilly Lucas, Brody Lucas, Avery Lucas, Aidan Harney and Liam Harney. She is also survived by her sister Judy Hughes (Edward) and niece Annie Hughes. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Since Joan is a THREE time survivor of breast cancer, donations IN HER MEMORY can be made to: The Foundation of St. Mary's Healthcare, 427 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010 for the benefit of the breast health center.
