I have many memories of Marian but there are two that particularly stand out in my mind. The first was on a weekend visit to the Bartlings in Binghamton when I was probably still in grade school. They had a crazy party that night (I think I remember one of the guests climbing a tree?). When Marian got up the next morning, she came into the kitchen and started to eat cold pizza for breakfast! First time I saw that (but she was right, it is good!).
The second memory was when Marian and family lived in South Carolina. She would write letters to my parents on a regular basis, which was very nice. The only problem was Marian had horrible handwriting! Our Friday night entertainment at that time was to sit around our dining room table and each person had a try at reading the letters. One person would think Marian robbed a bank where another thought Marian had read a book. One time it took us almost an hour to realize Marian had broken her arm at the beach due to the rip tide.
I happened on Marian's newspaper wedding photo one time that my mother had. She was the most beautiful bride I had ever seen.
There will never be another Marian.

Words can't express my sadness, the void, the loss and what you all must be going through and how you must be feeling. Gram was one of a kind and one that will live on in each of us forever. We have all shared some very special times together and lots of laughs mostly over Grams blurt out personality. She was never shy for words nor did she hold back in what she wanted to say when she wanted to say it. I hope when you think of Gram you will be able to smile and rejoice that she was part of our lives and what she left behind and what she will continue to send our way. Love to you all.
