There are many memories of visiting Uncle Bob, Aunt Joan, Scott and Cindy at the farm and their home during my youth. Uncle Bob was always laughing and the most gregarious of the family. Heading to the farm in Fort Ann was always the best vacation, especially when all the cousins were there.

I grew up in Niagara Falls, and later in Cocoa Beach. For 37 years, I've had the privilege of knowing Bob and his family. A few of the many memories I can recall are:...enjoying a day on his boat on the mighty Niagara River, and cruising around in his shiny white Berlinetta Camaro....which was my dream car at the time. I first learned to water ski behind the Crandall's boat with Bob as capt...making waves on the mighty Mohawk. He will be missed. Thanks for the many memories.

I always looked forward to our family reunions with Uncle Bob, Aunt Joan, Uncle Dean, Aunt Caroline and all my cousins. We occupied several cottages, usually on the shores of a lake for a week that seemed to go by in an instant. The love and laughter we shared during these reunions are some of my most cherished memories. I was always so excited about Uncle Bob taking us boating and water skiing. One of my favorite memories of Uncle Bob is when he would use a spoon as a microphone and recite "Mrs. Potts Pitt" flawlessly. He had us all doubled over in laughter. I'm so thankful for these memories and the time spent with you Uncle Bob. God bless, and I'm looking forward to at least a couple more loops around the lake when we meet again.

You have been such an inspiration and amazing part of my world and well being. I couldn't be more blessed and lucky to have your continuous love and support. Your sweet, constant thought and consideration for others are mannerisms you could only hope to be contagious in others, and you truly brought this to every life you touched.

Yvonne and I have known Bob for many years. We have enjoyed his company in this area and Cocoa Beach, Florida; which he so loved during the winter months. We admired his dedication to his family; especially to his wife Joan. He always liked meeting new people and enjoyed working with the restoration group at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville. We loved his enthusiasm for life; earning a private pilot license in later years and his painting artistry. He was proud of his military service in the US Navy, during WWII and many times said "I have been very fortunate in life". He was a good friend and he will be missed very much.

For me, Mr Crandall was a personal loss and a gift to my life. I spent a brief few meetings with him at family affairs with his son and son's family whom I greatly admire. Even as special as the family, the pictures I proudly display throughout my home and witness daily, bring memories, nature, and joy to me and to my wife as well as guests fortunate enough to view them. His sensitivity to the natural world seems to have transcended his life and energized those who were fortunate enough to know him. Thank you Mr. Crandall, grandpa for us all. , bob kantar, SCC

Bob and I graduated from college on the same day. Bob from Michigan State and I from Syracuse Univ. Mom went to his graduation and Dad came to mine. It was quite a day for the family. Later starting our careers we used to talk about what we would have to make to really do well. We decided if we could just make five thousand dollars a year we would really be doing okay. Following after Bob I joined the navy as soon as I turned seventeen. We crossed paths in Hawaii once when our ships were in port but couldn't get together. He was on radio watch shortly after when we were enroute in the Pacific and got the message that we had a man overboard. One of my shipmates was washed over during a big storm. He bunked above me in our quarters. We always tried to call each other on Veterans day to thank each other for our service. Thanks for your service Bob. Clif

I've never met a more loving, caring, supportive, generous individual in my entire life. I'm so lucky to have been able to call him "Grandpa". He's been a huge inspiration and has always been one of my biggest supporters. I'm very thankful for all of the memories, and although I'm going to miss him dearly, I think he lived a great life and I know he's at peace in a better place now. He was one of the most amazing guys I've ever known and I will be forever grateful for all that he has done for me and my family, for all that he has helped me through and for the unconditional love that he has given me since day one. Rest in peace Grandpa and know that you are loved.

Iam very sorry for your loss. It was a pleasure to know and care for Bob, he was a wonderful man. I was touched when he gave me the book he wrote, while on the U.S.S. Franklin. I loved hearing his stories, from being on the U.S.S. Franklin to his days with State Farm. Ill always remember walking up and down the driveway with him, telling his stories, how much he loved his wife Joan. He would tell me about his kids and grandkids, how proud he was. I Will always remember his smile, I loved to see him smile. May he rest in peace.
