Obituary of Patricia M. Trenske-Mentink

Schenectady- Patricia M. Trenske-Mentink, formerly of Schenectady, went home to the Lord Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Teresian House after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born September 22, 1938 in Johnstown, NY, the daughter of the late Daniel and Violet Garnier Warren.
Patricia was a graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1955, she attended Plattsburg State Teacher's College where she graduated in 1960 as a Registered Nurse, she went on to graduate from SUNY Albany in 1979 with a Masters degree in counseling. Additionally, she completed a program in hospital administration from Villanova University in 1982. Patricia was an instructor at Memorial School of Nursing for many years.
In June 1962, she married Gregory Joseph Trenske. He passed away February 19,1978. They will now be eternally reunited after so many years apart.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady where she was involved with the church choir and the Catholic community.
Patricia loved life, lived it to its fullest, and devoted her life to helping others. Her laughter was contagious and filled a room. She loved playing tennis, dancing, and enjoying music. She was a loving mother and grandmother who made everyone feel loved and special. She was a gift to everyone who knew her.
Surviving are one son, Joseph (Roxanne) Trenske of Schenectady; her three daughters; Michele M. Vadney of Colonie, Darlene L. (Joseph) Glogan of Guilderland, Lisa F.(Nicola) Petraccione of Niskayuna; one brother, Richard (Arleen) Warren of Guilderland and six grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday morning at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Schenectady. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St.,(at McClellan St.), Schenectady. Burial will be next to her late husband in Memory Garden's, Colonie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Patricia's memory may be made to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203 or to the Alzheimer's Association, Northern New York, Pine West Plaza, Bldg 4, suite 405, Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12205-5515.
