Obituary of Charlotte R. Hubbard

Schenectady- Charlotte Roberts Hubbard of Schenectady, NY died April 20, 2012 at the age of 89. Born in Boston, MA she was the daughter of the late George Wilson and Helen Monroe Roberts. She lived in Springfield, MA for 25 years, moving to Schenectady in 1948. Mrs. Hubbard graduated from Classical High School in Springfield and Edgewood Park Jr. College in Briarcliff Manor, NY. She taught at Miss Rude's School in Longmeadow, MA. After moving to Schenectady she taught at Brown School. She was happily married to William Tapley Hubbard for over 64 years. Mrs. Hubbard was a member and volunteer of the Schenectady Junior League. She was also an active member of the First Reformed Church of Schenectady. Survivors include her husband William, her daughter Susan Renna and her husband, Angelo of Norton, MA. Granddaughters Laura Riley and her husband Jonathan of N. Attleboro, MA and Katie Hajjar and her husband Peter of Norwell, MA and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Hubbard also leaves a sister Katherine Hale Arnold of Enfield, CT and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 2 PM at the First Reformed Church of Schenectady at the corner of Union and Church Streets with entombment in the church columbarium. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the First Reformed Church, 8 N. Church St., Schenectady, NY 12305 or to the charity of your choice.
