My deepest sympathy to the entire Prendergast Family. i was very fortunate to have known him growing up. I will never forget the times he used to take me ice skating and for rides on his motorcycle. He was like a "Big Brother" to me. He always had a smile on his face and he was truly a "gentleman" in every sense of the word. He will always carry a special place in my heart.

Bob and I worked in the same building at UAlbany and I just wanted to pass along a couple of incidences that I think represent Bob very well. Last year my niece was participating in an bike event to raise money for multiple sclerosis. When I was seeking donations, Bob was the only person to come forward to donate. Just last week, Bob wanted to play a trick on a co-worker and when she left her pocketbook in the entryway, Bob hid it on her. Bob was generous and fun loving. For me, Bob's memory will remind me to embrace each day. May your memories of Bob give you comfort. Janice Wilkens

My most sincere condolences for your loss. I only knew Bob for a brief time while working on a renovation project here at the UAlbany Libraries. I was immediately struck by his intelligence and creativity. He inspired our group "dream big" to create a place that would express the excellence embodied in our students and faculty. It is my hope our continued work will reflect the excellence he personified. I am honored to have met him. He will be missed. Peace be with you.

So sorry to hear about Bob's passing...I spoke to him just a few weeks ago and was totally shocked by the news. Bob was the consummate professional and a great colleague to Gene. He spoke often of his family, of which he was very proud. He will be much missed by those of us in the profession who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Sincere condolences.
