Obituary of Linnea H. Roedel

Linnea Ida Hallander Roedel 98, of Apple Tree Lane, died peacefully at home on December 1st with her loving family by her side. Linnea was born on July 23, 1914 in Gary Indiana to Charles and Ida Hallander. Linnea was married to George F. Roedel on August 22, 1942. Together they enjoyed tennis, golf, bridge, gardening and their son's sports endeavors. Linnea treasured sewing, baking, playing the piano, teaching Sunday School and volunteering. She is survived by her three sons; Richard Roedel of Edina, Minnesota, Donald (Linda) Roedel of Guilderland and Ronald (Deborah) of Scotia, daughter in law, Mary Lou Roedel, brother in law Kenneth Siegesmund, nieces Sharon Bassett, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Roedel was predeceased by her husband George (1999), her twin sister Lillian and brothers Carl and G. Theodore Hallander. With much love and support of her family, Linnea was able to remain in her home during these past few years. Thank you to Home Instead, Kingsway Arms and Community Hospice for their loving care. A funeral service will be held for relatives and friends on Wednesday December 5th at Noon at Zion Lutheran Church. A calling hour will be held from 11 AM to the time of the service, for those who wish to call, at the church.
