Obituary of Judith A. Rasmussen

Judith Atwood Rasmussen 72, passed into the hands of our Lord on July 1, 2017. Judy was born in Plattsburgh, NY the daughter of the late Kenneth R. and Gertrude (Tank) Atwood. She was an honors graduate of Beekmantown High School and continued her education at the State University of New York, Plattsburgh receiving her under graduate and master degrees in education. She shared her knowledge of history with her students in the Ticonderoga, NY school district for several years prior to her marriage and moved to Niskayuna with her husband, Richard P. Rasmussen. Judy was very active in various charity groups. She served 25 years as church secretary at the Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 271. Judy was predeceased by her husband, Richard. She is survived by her sister, Janice L. Atwood of Annapolis, MD, two aunts, 10 cousins and many friends who loved her. She will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens in a private setting. Charitable donations in her memory will be appreciated by the Northeast Association of the Blind at Albany (NABA) 301 Washington Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
