Schenectady - Ruth Wayman Campbell, 95, lifelong resident of Schenectady, died Wednesday August 29, 2012. Born in Schnectady on March 28, 1917, she was the daughter of Lydia and George Craig Wayman. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 61 years, Harold E. Campbell. Ruth grew up in the upper Union Street area of Schenectady and graduated from Russell Sage College in 1938. After graduation she worked for General Electric Company where she met Harold Campbell. Ruth was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara S. Campbell of Richmond, VA, one son, Craig E. Campbell and wife Ann Campbell of Birmingham, AL, and two grandchildren, Jessica A. and William G. Campbell , also of Birmingham, AL. She also leaves behind many friends and members of her church family. A memorial service will be held at a future date and placement in the columbarium of the First United Methodist Church in Schenectady will also be held at that time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Ruth's name be made to the First United Methodist Church, 603 State Street, Schenectady, New York 12309 or to Russell Sage College, 65 1st Street , Troy, NY 12180.
