Obituary of Robert M. Templeton

ALBANY—Robert M. Templeton, son of Charles and Eva (Cunning) Templeton, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2014, four days after his 97th birthday.
He was predeceased by his parents and only daughter, Rosalyn Marvin.
Known survivors are first cousins, Gerald (Norma) Hamm of Scotia, Kenneth (Jean) Cunning of Cedar Park, TX; many second cousins and friend, Suzanne Sheldon and her family of Schenectady.
Bob was born in Rome, NY. He and his parents owned the Templeton Glove Co. in Gloversville, NY. Bob attended Union College and received his degree in Business Administration from Columbia University in NYC. An early volunteer in World War II, he served as Lieutenant aboard the USS Wakefield, Centaurus, and Spencer from 1942 until 1945. Bob had a lifetime interest in sports particularly the New York Yankees.
A heartfelt thanks to the Stratton VA Hospice Drs. Phillips and Uppal and their entire staff for the wonderful and compassionate care Bob received in their facility.
A member of First Reformed Church of Schenectady, a service will be held at 8 North Church St., on Saturday, August 9th at 11 AM in the Poling Chapel.
