Obituary of Freeman Keith Creasey

Schenectady-- Keith Creasey passed away at Ellis Hospital after a short illness on March 12th. He was born in Forestville, Ct. and graduated from Bristol High School, Bristol Ct., Lyndon Institute, Lyndonville, Vt., and the University of Vermont with a degree in economics. He served in the army during the Korean War in the Counter Intelligence Corp and was stationed in Germany. For forty years he was employed by General Electric where he worked in market research and strategic planning.
Always a creative and inventive person, Keith was a master craftsman and designed and built his home in Connecticut as well as many fine pieces of furniture. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed classical music, particularly opera. His efforts were instrumental in founding the Mekeel Christian Academy in Scotia and in defeating the Duke energy project slated for the Mohawk River.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady he served as a deacon and an elder, chaired numerous committees and spearheaded projects to enhance community life within the church and solidify its witness in the world. Keith was a person of tremendous vigor, compassion and strength and he worked tirelessly to serve his neighbor and his God.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of 61 years, daughter Jennifer Gresko Schevers of Wayne, Illinois, grandson Andrew and a sister, Jane, in New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 17th at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church in his memory.
