Obituary of Frank S. Ruota

Frank S. Ruota died on Wednesday, July 13th, 2016 in Cape Coral, Florida, with his beloved wife, Susan (Fahey) Ruota, daughter, Jenny (Ruota) Stafford, and daughter in-law, Sierra Stafford at his side. Frank was born May 21, 1951 in Niskayuna, NY, and was the son of Frank B. Ruota, and Adeline (Cusano) Ruota (both deceased). Frank was the youngest brother to Margaret (Ruota) Benacquista of Delanson NY, Nancy (Ruota) Polachek of Schenectady, NY and Bernard Ruota (deceased) of Niskayuna, NY. In addition to his cherished wife, daughter, and sisters, he is also survived by many treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Frank and Susan were married on May 25, 1974, then spent most of their 42 year marriage in Glenville, NY before retiring to Florida in 2007. Frank joined Niskayuna Fire Department in 1975, was promoted to Lieutenant in 1987, then Captain in 1990, and was a much loved and respected mentor at the time of his retirement in 1995. Before relocating, Frank was an active member of St. George's Church in Schenectady, volunteering with the youth group, maintenance of grounds, and fundraising endeavors. He was an avid wine maker and collector, and shared a love of animals with his wife and daughter, breeding and showing the Old English Mastiffs that comprised the bulk of their menagerie. Frank's life will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, August 6th, at St. George's Church, 30 North Ferry Street, Schenectady, NY 12305.
