Obituary of Warren C. Kelts

Warren C. Kelts, 88, of Niskayuna passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 after a brief illness. He was born on May 19, 1922 in Colonie, NY. For 31 years he was a Police Officer for the Niskayuna Police Department where he proudly had badge #1. After retiring from the Police Department Warren and his wife Marie ran a road side flower stand for many years on River Road in Niskyauna. Warren was a Veteran of the US Army serving from 1943 to 1946 and was a Charter Member of the Niskayuna Fire District #2. Survivors include his beloved wife Marie Friday Kelts whom he married 61 years ago at The Trinity Lutheran Church. His devoted Daughter Linda Kelts Browarski and her husband Joseph of Niskayuna. His pride and joy, his Grandson Kevin Coffey of Waterford and his cherished Granddaughter Lynne Coffey of Niskayuna. As well as Warren's feline companion, Katie. Warren was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Lisa Kelts. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, from 5 to 7 pm at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street (at the corner of McClellan st.) Schenectady, NY 12309 A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory's Garden.
