Obituary of Janice E. Greiner

Janice Pomeroy Greiner 65, of Schenectady, passed away after a short illness at Ellis Hospital on Monday November 21, 2016. Born in Niskayuna, a daughter to the late Andrew W. and Eileen Snyder Pomeroy. Janice graduated from Linton High School, class of 1970. She worked as a night auditor at the Holiday Inn in Schenectady and most recently as a clerk at the City Mission Thrift Store in Schenectady prior to its closing. Janice loved football and baseball, especially the NY Giants, Yankees and Mets. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Richard Greiner. Survived by her step-mother, Beverly Pomeroy, siblings, William (Anne) Pomeroy, John (Yolanda) Pomeroy, Michael (Karen) Pomeroy, Donna LaForest and Steven (Michele) LaForest; nieces Michaela Pomeroy, Christina Pomeroy, Kristen (John) Hotaling, nephews, Brian (Maggie) Pomeroy and Kevin Pomeroy. In addition, several great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday November 23rd at 11 am at St. Kateri Parish, 1803 Union St., (formerly St. Helen's), Niskayuna. A calling hour will be held from 10 AM on Wednesday at church prior to the Mass. Burial will be next to her mother at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice's memory may be made to City Mission of Schenectady, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
