Saratoga Springs - Alfred Thomas DeLorenzo "Fred",78, passed away early Friday, June 19, 2009, after a short illness. Fred was born in Schenectady, son of the late Joseph and Clementina DeLorenzo, he graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1949. Fred owned Sherman's Liquor Store for many years in Schenectady and later employed by Pepsi Co. and DeCrescente Distributors in Mechanicville. He was a member of the Eagles in Saratoga Springs and a diehard Yankees fan. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol DellaRocco DeLorenzo; daughters, Maria DeLorenzo and Stephanie Carney; granddaughters, Rachel Carney, Danielle Carney, Michelle Carney, Elizabeth Carney. Predeceased by his son in-law, Ronald Carney. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 9 AM at the Church of St. Peter the Apostle, 271 N. Hudson Avenue, Stillwater, NY. A calling time will be Tuesday morning starting at 8 AM at the church, prior to the Mass for those who wish to call. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The City Mission of Schenectady, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
