Obituary of Marion G. Sheehan

Marion Goodwin Sheehan 89, of Niskayuna died Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Marion was born on January 10, 1923 in Utica, NY, a daughter of the late Chester and Emma Atkinson Goodwin. She attended local schools in Utica and was employed for 44 years with Verizon, then NY Telephone. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and a Board member. Marion was an activer parishoner and volunteer at the former Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Schenectady and participated in retreats at Dominican Retreat House. She married Leo J. Sheehan, October 18, 1952, he predeceased her June 29, 1991. Marion is survived by her nephew David and Tandy Goodwin of Glen Allen, VA, their children, Laura Goodwin of Washington, DC and Paul Goodwin of Wilmington, NC and nephew, Michael and Janet Sheehan, of New Hartford, NY and their children, Colleen Sheehan of New York, NY; her daughter McKenzie Sheehan of New York, NY; Kevin and Elisa Sheehan,of Saratoga Springs, NY and their children Quinn Sheehan and Nola Sheehan and many dear friends too numerous to mention. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, November 28th, at 9 AM at St. Kateri Tekakwitha (formerly Our Lady of Fatima), Rosa Rd., Schenectady. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. Interment to follow the Mass at 1 PM Wednesday in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro, NY, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marion's memory to St. Kateri Tekakwith, 2216 Rosa Rd., Schenectady, NY 12309 or a charity of one's choice.
