Obituary of Martha L. Stenard

SCHENECTADY?Martha L. Stenard, 95, died at her home Friday morning after a long illness. Martha was born in Schenectady, a daughter of the late Conrad and Carrie Aussiker Krieger. She was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School and then lived as a homemaker, caring for her husband, son and daughter. She was a volunteer for Senior Companions, O. D. Heck and Foster Grandparents for many years. She was a devoted communicant of Emmanuel Friedens Baptist Church in Schenectady. Martha was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert R. Stenard, whom she married on May 11, 1937 and he died November 1976; a daughter Gail Davies; and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Stenard. Survivors include her loving son, Robert R. Stenard and his wife Elsie of Schenectady; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, Inc., Union St., with Rev. Larry Phillips officiating. Interment to follow in Park Cemetery, Scotia.
