Obituary of Mary E. Centerbar

Schenectady- Mary E. Centerbar (Berg), 73, formerly of Ten Eyck Apts., Schenectady, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospice with her loving family by her side. Born in Corinth, NY, daughter of the late Clinton and Irma Benton Centerbar. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. She was always looking out and caring for her family and her many friends. Mary was predeceased by her former husband, Frederick Berg Sr; her sisters, Alma Duell, Debra Centerbar-McFadden and her daughter Kimberly Joy Berg. Survived by her children, Merri Christie (Dave) Ody of Schenectady, Kimberly Jean Berg (Edward Chase) of Schenectady, Frederick Berg(Iron Workers Local 12) of Schenectady, Brian (Jotti) Berg of CT, Dennis (Felecia) Berg of Broadalbin; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister, Dorothy Knowlton of CT, and brother Donald Centerbar of Argyle, NY. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady, with a prayer service at 8 PM. Burial will be private at a later date. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Mary's memory to Community Hospice or to a charity of one's choice.
