Obituary of Salvatore "Pepe" Belmonte

Schenectady- Salvatore "Pepe" Belmonte 83, of Union Street, died on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, Pepe was an Army Veteran of WW II and worked for Sears in Brooklyn where he retired from in 1981. He has been a resident of Schenectady for the past 30 years. Survived by his cousins; Carmine Sagnelli of Brooklyn, Rudolph Sagnelli of Brooklyn, Phyllis Sagnelli of Pennsylvania, Evelyn Capozzi of Long Island, Kathy Talts of Florida; nieces, Kathy Belmonte Swanker, Michele Belmonte Colaianni, Roseanne Belmonte Giordano and nephew Larry Belmonte; his caregiver, Kitty Lydon and many dear friends. Predeceased by his brothers, Michael Belmonte and Patrick Belmonte. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 9 AM on Tuesday at St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady. Calling hours will be Monday, today, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery on Long Island. Friends are invited to a reception following the Mass at The Horse Lounge on McClellan St. A special thank you to the staff on C 6 at Ellis Hospital and Hospice for the loving care for Pepe in his final days. Memorial contributions in Pepe's memory may be made to Community Hospice, 1411 Union St.,
