Obituary of Barbara D. Thibodeau

Schenectady-Barbara D. Thibodeau 94, of Schenectady, passed away on Friday September 5, 2014 after a long illness. Born May 15, 1920, in Bennington, VT, a daughter to the late Orlando and Maude Williams Dickinson. Barbara was educated in Bennington, VT. She was a member for 52 years of the Albany Street United Methodist Church where she was a very active parishioner. Barbara also volunteered at St. Clare's Hospital and the City Mission. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, J. Phillip Thibodeau in 2003 and her brother Sanford Dickinson. Survived by her daughters; Mary Jeanne Williams and Janet Greco and her husband Robert.; 3 grand sons, Christopher, Benjamin and John Michael; six great-grandchildren; two nephews and a lovely young girl, Alessandra, who called her Grandma Barbara. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 13th at 11 am at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St.,( at McClellan St.), Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 10 AM prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Barbara's memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308 or to St. Jude Childrens Hospital,PO Box 1000 Memphis, TN 38101
