Mr. Horton was a neighbor and a huge positive influence when I was a kid. He would let me and his son Tom invent things at his workbench and in most cases help us out if he could figure out what we were trying to invent. Mal and his wife Pat Horton are some of the kindest people I've ever known. His son Tom and daughter Linda are some of the first kids I remember playing with when we were very young. He will always be thought of with respect and dignity. He was a great guy.

My heartfelt condolences to all of you on Malcolm' passing. I knew him from our days together at GE as well as spending many enjoyable GE retired engineer's luncheons with him. He was always a 'fountain of knowledge' to us younger engineers.
He wll be sorely missed by all of us and my thoughts go out to all of you in this difficult time.

Mal was a friend of my father, Curtis Herskind. When they got together, they discussed electrical engineering, water power, and other pursuits. Upon my father's death in 1996, Mal was instrumental in sorting through and distributing to interested parties my father's engineering and other books. My husband and I more recently ran into Mal at an Adirondack Architectural Heritage tour, so he was truly a man of wide interests. Our sincere condolences to his family.
