Obituary of Roy C. Roberts

Roy C. Roberts passed away Friday September 1, 2017 after a brief illness with his family by his side. Born in Schenectady, the son of the late Roy M. and Alice Roberts, he was a lifelong area resident. After proudly serving in the US Marine Corp, he retired after 33 years of service with Pepsi-Cola Allied Bottlers. He started his career as vending machine repairman and retired as a Senior Vice President of Operations in 1999. Roy was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family at his camp in Brant Lake. He enjoyed working with his hands, whether it be tackling a project around the house, working on the lawn, or doing puzzles in the winter. Survivors include his loving wife Sandra (Galusha) of 53 years; two children Jan Ellen Roberts of Bridgewater, CT. and Roy R. Roberts of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren Katie and Tyler Roberts of North Carolina; sisters Patricia Roberts and Karen Walsh; Brother in Law Rick Galusha (Paula Rehder); Special nieces Janine and Jessica Galusha. He was predeceased by brothers William and Dale Roberts. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday Sept 5th from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home at a time to be announced. Burial with Military honors will be at Memory Garden's, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, donations came be made to St. Jude's.
