Obituary of Paul Raymond Hitchcock

REXFORD—Paul R. Hitchcock, 84, passed away peacefully Friday evening at Wesley Health Care Center after a long illness. Paul was born in Moulton, Iowa and was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines with a business degree. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Paul moved to New York in 1955 and lived in a variety of communities including Schenectady, Niskayuna and Clifton Park. He worked as an Accounting Supervisor for the General Electric Company and Knolls Atomic Power Lab, where he retired in 1992 after many years of faithful of service. Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Janet Hitchcock; son, Michael (Diane) Hitchcock; daughters, Susan (Richard) Hitchcock-Bopp, Linda (Thomas) Peterson, Jill (Christopher) Smolinski; grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Leah Hitchcock, Lauren and Thomas Peterson, Zachary and Sarah Smolinski; sister, Lucille (Duane) Colton. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday Morning July 12th at 10 AM at Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church, 943 Palmer Ave., Schenectady. Interment with military honors will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
