We were deeply saddened to just learn that Grace died in November. We met Grace in the early 1970s and although, in recent years we have mostly been "Christmas card pals," she is a cherished part of our history. Grace Hilt is a gracious, gentle person who was always an A+ professional. We are in the process of returning from Maryland to upstate NY and were looking forward to reconnecting with Grace and Tom. Dear Tom, Nancy and Family, Grace was my best friend. I knew her for many years. I am shocked to hear the news--I always thought she would go on forever. We had fun shopping, gathering with friends and family, and taking trips. I remember the many walks on the beach and hiking through the woods to the cranberry bog to watch the harvest. She broadened my horizon. Grace truly was a bright light!

I met Grace in the late 70's when she worked for the Dairy Council. She was a great resource for a beginning teacher. She was the epitome of professionalism and was an outstanding representative for our discipline of Home Economics. I am sorry for your loss of such a kind woman.

Dear Folks, My deepest sympathy to you on the death of Grace. We met when we were four years old and lived in Sycaway. We went to school together and I always appreciated her gentleness and kindness. Over the years we connected and then a friend Nora Poland had a house on Cape Cod and talked of meeting Grace so we got to connect again. The three of us were born the same week. Tom, Matt and I were so saddened to hear about Grace's passing. She was truly one of the nicest people I've ever met. Her sweetness was soul deep, her kindness was second to none. Her sincerity shone through in every word she said. We will remember her every time we visit Cape Cod with my family. She loved that house, and her personal touches and warmth was evident in every room in that house. Im sorry we couldn't make it out there from San Diego. We're sending you our love and strength.
