Donald H. Klimchak, 84, of Colonie NY, with his wife of 59 years, Patricia, by his side and surrounded by his children, passed away peacefully at home.
Donald was born in Plymouth PA, July 25, 1932. He honorably served in the US Air Force, had a successful 35 year career as an Air Traffic Controller at the Albany International Airport. After retiring he served his community as the Building Inspector for the Village of Colonie for 10 years. He enjoyed a variety of activities with his family and friends including his yearly trip to Ormond Beach FL, pool, bridge, poker and golf. He fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams when he was called to "Come on down!" as a contestant on the Price is Right.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen Klimchak, his sister Carol and his infant son Michael John.
He is survived by his wife Patricia (O'Toole), his children and their families Donald J., Nanticoke PA; Linda Klimchak and Debbie Plaza, Cheektowaga NY, and their children Nicole, Jessica, Kasey and Sydney; Joseph and Myongsun, Las Vegas NV, and their children Jenifer and Joshua; David, Colonie NY, and his children David and Amanda; David and Laura (Klimchak) Foster, Burnt Hills NY, and their children Michael, Anna and Matthew; John Klimchak and Gregory Guarnieri, Shavertown, PA. He is also survived by eight beautiful great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, Schenectady, Friday, December 16, from 5 - 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of St. Clare, Colonie, on Saturday, December 17, at 9:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Memory's Garden.
