Obituary of LaVerne Antoinette Dowdell

LaVerne Antoinette Dowdell, 66, passed peacefully on the morning of October 15, 2014. A long time resident of Schenectady, LaVerne graduated from Niskayuna High School and received her Bachelors Degree in Education from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. She later attend State University of New York at Albany and received her Masters Degree in Adult and Continuing Education. LaVerne was a devout Christian and long time educator. A beloved and cherished mother, she is left to be mourned by her daughter Tamara Albury. LaVerne is survived by her sisters, Carol Cromer(Kirk) of Mitchellville, MD and Joanne Dowdell of Washington, DC, brother Kevin Dowdell (Tia) of Gaithersburg, MD an aunt to Etienne Saunders (Troy) and London Dowdell and a grandniece Amiya Saunders . In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Children's Defense Fund. A graveside service will take place at the Niskayuna Reformed Church Cemetery on Troy- Schenectady Road, across from Niskayuna Reformed Church, at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.
