Obituary of Ruth D. Gordon

Ruth Catherine Damery Gordon formerly of Heather Lane in Niskayuna and Hilton Head Island, SC passed away on June 25, 2009 at age 90 .
Born in West Warwick, RI, to Richard and Ada Damery, Mrs. Gordon was raised in Camden Maine. She graduated valedictorian of Camden High School, attended the University of Maine at Orono and graduated from Boston Conservatory of Music.
Mrs. Gordon was married to the late Arnold M. Gordon for 62 years until his death in 2003.
She was past president of the Schenectady Symphony League, St. George's Altar Guild, The Auxiliary of the Schenectady County Bar Association and Thursday Musical Club. Mrs. Gordon was also a member of the Board of the Schenectady Chapter of the American Cancer Society, Northeastern New York Women's Golf Association and a former member of the Mohawk Golf Club and Moss Creek Golf Club.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Michael Mullaney, her son, Harold ("Chip") Gordon, 9 grandchildren, Lori (Brian) Finch, Lisa (Christopher) McCarthy, Susanna (Jared) Michalec, Ainsley (Peter) Moloney, Tricia (Grayson) Mills, Caroline Gordon (Jeff Organisciak), Gregory (Katie) Mullaney, Timothy Mullaney and Lindsay Gordon. Additionally she is survived by 8 great grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Gordon.
In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Gordon was predeceased by her sister Anna Virginia Damery and her brother Richard Alden Damery.
At the request of the family funeral services will be private and there will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellis Hospital Foundation, 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
The family would also like to thank Pamela Holt and her staff, Kingsway Nursing Home and A-6 Ellis Hospital Staff for the wonderful care Ruth received in the last years of her life.
