Obituary of Linda J. Triplett

Linda June Triplett (formerly Cocca), age 69, passed away Tuesday, October 14 at her home of 37 years in Niskayuna, NY. Her family was with her. Linda was born in Troy and raised in Cohoes, NY, daughter of the late John Cocca and Helen (Gelonka) Cocca,. She attended St. Agnes School and Keveny Memorial Academy in Cohoes, earned her Bachelor's Degree from the College of St. Rose in 1967 and her Master of Education from Boston College in 1970.
Linda taught 4th and 5th grade for her entire career, starting in Shenendehowa Central Schools (1967-1969), continuing in Braintree, Massachusetts (1970 - 1976), and most recently in Guilderland Elementary School, where she taught 4th grade from 1988 until her retirement in 2004. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening and increasing involvement with her church, St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish (formerly St. Helen's) in Niskayuna. She gave generously of her time, money and emotional support to friends and strangers alike. Linda touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa McCarty of Arlington, Massachusetts, son-in-law John McCarty, two grandsons—Evan (age 2) and Colin (age 1 month), her sister Geraldine Randolph of Groton, NY, brother-in-law Keith Randolph, and nephew Stephen Randolph.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, October 19, 5pm - 7pm at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., Schenectady, NY. The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, October 20 at 9am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, 1803 Union St., Schenectady, NY. She will be interred at St. Michael's Cemetery in Waterford, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Lighthouse Catholic Media (www.lighthousecatholicmedia.org), Dynamic Catholic (dynamiccatholic.com/) or Food for the Poor (www.foodforthepoor.org/).
