Please share a memory of Mabel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mabel A. Cloney, 80, of Niskayuna, New York, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at home following a brief illness. Mabel was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, on Thursday December 12, 1935, daughter of the late Guy and Ella Rutherford. A longtime resident of Torrington, Connecticut, Mabel retired after many years of service with the State of Connecticut. She enjoyed her retirement years spending time with family and friends and doting on her two feline companions, Megan and Molly. Mabel is survived by her brother, Harold (Elaine) Rutherford of Niskayuna, New York; her sister-in-law, Evelyn (Sterling) Rutherford of Van Buren, Maine; nephews, Paul Rutherford of Clifton Park, New York, Mike Rutherford of Niskayuna, New York, Jeff Rutherford of Massachusetts, Scott Rutherford of North Carolina; and nieces, Connie Bell of North Carolina, Debbie Fields of Montana and Laurie Manero of Massachusetts. Mabel was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Sterling Rutherford, Elwood Rutherford and Wayne Rutherford. Out of respect for Mabel's desire for cremation, and to pass quietly from this life, there were no services scheduled. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
