Schenectady- Evelyn Grace Gibbons 91, former resident of Green Street, Schenectady, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Glendale Nursing Home. Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Jennie Webber Hope. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Gibbons in 1991. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Schenectady; a member of The St. Cecilia Choir and was choir mother for the Men's and Boys choir at St. George's. Evelyn was also a member of The Thursday Club and The Octavo Singers. Evelyn is survived by her 3 children, Joseph Gibbons (Marilyn) of The Villages, FL, Frederick Gibbons Sr.(Joyce) of Scotia and Patricia Gibbons of Schenectady; 5 grandchildren, Christine Angley (John), Frederick Gibbons Jr. (Allison), James Gibbons, Pamela Baker, Erin Baker. 14 great grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Fahey of Schenectady and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Frederick Hope, and sisters, Mary Holmes, Doris Cimino, and Margaret Hope. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday morning at 11 AM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady with Rev Paul Blanch officiating. A calling hour will be held Thursday morning from 10 AM prior to the service, for those who wish to call. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Evelyn's memory to St. George's Episcopal Church, 30 North Ferry St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
