Marion Riley Eldridge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on Wednesday evening.
Marion was a lifelong resident of Niskayuna. She was born on Webster Street in Schenectady, and graduated from Draper High School. Marion was a Secretary at GE for many years prior to her retirement in 1981.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, The Order of the Eastern Star, Edinburg Senior Citizens, 2 Red Hat Groups and enjoyed traveling .
She was predeceased by her parents Rose K. Meuth Riley & Stephen J. Riley and her loving husband of 49 years John S. Eldridge Sr., a Daughter Joan Marion Eldridge, a Granddaughter Robin Mildred Lansing and her sister Ruth Butler LaBounty.
She is survived by her Brother Earl J. Riley (Mary) of Rotterdam; children John S. Eldridge, Jr. (Gail) of Scotia, Richard I. Eldridge (Ellen) of Pittsfield, MA and Eve M. Lansing, EA (Thomas P., Sr. of Ballston Spa), 7 Grandchildren, 10 GreatGrandchildren and 2 Great-greatgrandchildren: Marianne E. Eldridge Myers (Stephen)(Stephen G. Jr., Leslie E. Myers Tuczynski,(Jacob M. Jenna Tuczynski) & Joshua T.) Dianne M. Eldridge Dobert, (Gregory),(Gregg T.,Jr., Michael S. & Nicholas R. Dobert), John S. Eldridge, III (Deirdre), Jennifer E. Eldridge Larkin (R. Sean(Audrey Marion & Tristan R. Larkin) Nathaniel R. & Benjamin C. Eldridge and Thomas P. Lansing, Jr.(Robin)(Kassidy & Kensy Lansing) several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday July 20th, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, Schenectady, NY. A funeral Service of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Memory Garden's, 923 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Colonie, NY 12205.
