Vincent "Vinnie Jay" of Schenectady, New York, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home. Vincent was born March 31, 1933 in Schenectady New York to Vincent and Helen Ausfeld. His working years were spent at General Electric in Schenectady and South Carolina where he was fortunate to be able to retire at 53 in order to spend the rest of his years traveling, playing golf and enjoying life with his devoted wife and best friend Linda. For a short time, he and Linda ran and managed the Stadium Connection where he used his schmoozing skills that we all grew to love and appreciate. He was a truly gifted accordian player and played in the Don Nikolski Band, the Vinnie Jay Trio and at many family parties. He loved polish music and dance and was an avid Yankee and NY Giants fan. He lived life on his own terms and by his own rules. A gift he passed on to everyone who knew him. Vincent is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda , his four children, Vincent Ausfeld Jr. (Dona) of Schenectady New York, Donna Altshul (Larry) of Waikoloa, Hawaii, Sharon Sheffer (Jack) of Broadalbin, New York, Thomas Ausfeld (Jill) of Canandaigua, New York, and a stepdaughter, Kathleen Groat of Albany, New York. He joins his daughter Carol Beach (Gary) in heaven and looks down on all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren who have touched his life, Abbie, Shannon, Collin, Lindsey, Kyle, Meghan, Trevor, Serena, Kaileigh, Zachary, Braydon, Kinslee, Benjamin, Jackson, Caden, Connor, Sadie and Allie. He is also survived by a brother, James Ausfeld (Bonnie), Eleanor Ausfeld (Dick) and Virginia Bergstrom (Paul), several cousins and nieces and nephews. Calling hours to celebrate his life will be held from 1:00-4:00 on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Jones Funeral Home, Union Street, Schenectady, New York.
