Edmund L. Braungart, 82 passed away at home on June 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 30th, 1935 in Syracuse, NY, Ed was the son of the late Emil Braungart and Helen M. Lynch Braungart Seaman and Step-father William Seaman. He married Elizabeth A. Sakos Braungart on July 22, 1961.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two wonderful children: Gregory H. Braungart (Carol) , Teresa A. Braungart-Gibbons (Ken); two delightful grandsons: William Fritz Braungart and Noah-Liam Goetz; his brother Howard E. Braungart and sister, Ann M. (James) Shave. He was predeceased by his loving sister Helen Parenteau, Sister Joan (Sam) MacMillan, and brother Francis Braungart (Modga).
Ed graduated Mont Pleasant High School, class of 1954. He was best known to his co-workers as "Moose" and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #83. He worked in the field for 38 years retiring in 1994. He retired again in 2007 from Trustco Bank.
Friends and family are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at 9 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Albany St., Schenectady. Friends and family may call at Jones Funeral Home , 1503 Union St. ,(at McClellan St.), Schenectady on Friday, June 16th from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Burial to follow the Mass at Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
Ed's family would like to thank all those who provided such wonderful care to him this past year, especially; The PT/OT department at Sunnyview and Kingsway Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Tonneau, Christina McGaffin, Mary Beth Bauer at Capital Care, Alice Benfey, along with all the other staff at Community Hospice.
