Obituary of Rose M. White
Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rose Marie White passed away at the Kingsway Arms Nursing Center on November 16, 2014. She was a long time resident of Niskayuna, NY. Born in Albany, NY on March 4, 1926, she went to grade school and high school in Albany, and then attended Mildred Elley Business School. She worked as a secretary for the New York State Automobile Dealers Association where she was particularly proud of her work to establish the first law requiring automobiles to be inspected. She met her husband, Alex James White, at Lake George and after a two-year courtship they were married on December 1, 1951. They enjoyed a wonderful 63 years of marriage. She reveled and excelled in her primary role as mother to her three children, Linda Ann White, Scott Alexander White, and Christine Ann White-Ziegler and her son-in-law John Francis Ziegler. She was also the extremely proud grandmother of Quinn and Parker Ziegler. Rose was the calm, supportive, loving, foundational center of her family with a wonderful sense of humor that made everyone laugh. She developed the family traditions and celebrations that formed many of the special memories of her family. Rose had a variety of hobbies, but was particularly proud of her artwork, a newly found talent she developed over this past year. Rose was greatly loved by her family and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her sister Kay Neil and her brother William Geiger.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, November 19 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady, NY.
