Schenectady- Peter Tom Coyle 94, formerly of Union St., died wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Glendale Nursing Home. Peter was born in Schenectady, son of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Staver Coyle Sr. He grew up in Alplaus and graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1935. Peter entered the General Electric Apprentice Program in 1947, he worked as a Specialist of Renovation & Construction, living in several location around the US before moving back to Schenectady in 1966. He retired in 1980 . He was a member over 60 years at St. George's Lodge F & AM # 6, St. George's Chapter # 157 RAM. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Doris Van Antwerp Coyle in 2004. Survived by his sister, Virginia (Randy) Houlton of Hendersonville, NC, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends who were like family. Also predeceased by his 7 siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on SaturdayApril 24th at 10:30 am, at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady with a calling hour from 9:30am prior to the service. Burial will be with his wife in Woestina Cemetery, Rotterdam Jct. A special Thank You to Dr. Gerardus Jameson and the nursing staff at the Glendale Nursing Home for the special care given to Peter during his stay. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, may be made to Shriner's Hospital.
