Ronald E. Hilbert 82, formerly of Rotterdam, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Baptist Health Nursing Center with his loving family by his side.
Ronald was born in Schenectady a son of the late John and Sadie Lupe Hilbert. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and Schenectady County Community College. Upon his graduation he entered the Air Force in 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1952. He worked at Western Electric for 3 years then began his career with the US Postal Service in Schenectady as a Letter Carrier for 30 years. Ronald was a avid sports fan, he especially loved the NY Yankees and the NY Giants. Ronald was predeceased by his wife June Sinclair Hilbert in 2004.
Survived by his children; Susan Olsen, Toni (Eric) Sewell, Terry (John) Boyle, David (Cheri) Hilbert; step children; Denise Sinclair, Tracy Sinclair, Toni (Tom) Ciampolillo, Douglas Marinelli; his sister Connie Fairbaurn: 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; predeceased by his grandson, Christopher Hilbert. Also survied by his former wife Virginia Lindastead Hilbert. A special thank you to the staff at Baptist Health Nursing Center on N2 and his 2 favorite aids and Dr. Ringler.
A calling hour will be held on Monday from 11 AM to Noon at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady, with a prayer service at Noon, followed by burial with Military Honors, at 2 PM at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
